Therefore, even though he seeks other people's benefits, he has no arrogance and arrogance.

It’s like a person feeding himself, never expecting a reward.

By practicing the exchange of self and others, and repeatedly thinking that oneself and others are the same, you will definitely have the idea of ​​seeking benefit others and completely devote yourself to the altruistic cause. Before doing this practice, altruism is only superficial. You still stand from your own perspective. After benefiting others, you will think that "I am benefiting others, I am the saver of others", and you will develop a sense of pride, such as "I am the best", and I am the "benevolent person" of others.

After doing this practice, because you regard all sentient beings as yourself, when you benefit sentient beings, you will not feel wronged, nor will you develop a noble pride because you bear the pain of others. It’s like feeding yourself, just protecting yourself, so you won’t feel that I’m benefiting myself, you won’t be arrogant and proud, you won’t feel arrogant, and you won’t seek any reward or ripening fruits.

I am as careful as if I am not rude to my words.

In this way, we should practice compassion and protect our hearts.

When a firm heart of equality between oneself and others is firmly aroused in the heart, it will protect and benefit all sentient beings wholeheartedly and protect all the disadvantages of sentient beings as if they were protecting themselves.

The protector Guan Shiyin, to eliminate all fears,

Great compassion emerges and blessings himself with the holy name.

Guanyin Bodhisattva initially developed a special bodhicitta, vowed to eliminate all fears in the three realms of reincarnation, liberate sentient beings from even the slightest pain, and bless their name by relying on the power of vows, meditation and wisdom. The "Avatamsaka Sutra" says: "Those who remember my name three times will wish that there will be no fear in the samsara." After making such a vow, they will start practicing with oneself and others, and finally complete the altruistic cause, benefiting endless sentient beings, and obtain the current fruit. That is, any sentient being able to hear the holy name of Guanyin Bodhisattva, can be saved from fear. This is because Guanyin Bodhisattva develops true great compassion for sentient beings.

Similarly, when we truly practice the exchange of oneself and others, love him as oneself, and love him as oneself, we will eventually be able to achieve the same merit as Guanyin Bodhisattva, save all sentient beings from the fear of reincarnation in the three realms, and benefit endless sentient beings.

Some people are a little cowardly about exchanging self-others, fearing to bear and suffer others' pain. Give comfort to cowards:

Famously known and scared, because of the long-term experience of the past,

If you lose it, you will be less happy. Don’t retreat if you know the difficulties are difficult.

The cowardly said: Although the benefits are huge, they will eventually achieve boundless power like Guanyin’s protector, but it is probably difficult for a coward like me to do it, so I am afraid of suffering from others’ pain.

The answer is: Don’t retreat because of difficulties. Things are not as difficult as you think. Just like things in the world, as long as you are willing to practice over and over again, although it seems difficult at first, relying on the power of sequential practice, it will definitely become easy in the end, and you will definitely be able to do it!

When you haven't practiced at first, you will be frightened when you hear the words "self-help and other people"; for example, you will be sucked into yourself and take on all kinds of pains from others, and you will be responsible for it. When you hear the things that change yourself and others, you will be afraid and want to escape: "That's okay to think about it, but if you really practice it, it will probably be unbearable! ”

But once you have practiced, it will hinder you from bearing the pain of others, and you will feel unhappy and unhappy. In the end, you will definitely fall in love with the practice of exchanging self and others. For example, when you get along with strangers, you will be scared at first when you hear the name, but slowly practice getting along with him, often thinking about his various commonalities, and you will not be afraid of him, so you will be reluctant to part with him, and you will be sad and displeased without him. Similarly, the exchange of self and others will eventually become an inseparable part of your life.

If a person wants to be hasty, he will help him and others.

You should practice the secret of self-transformation and exchange of others.

In short, if any Budgala wants to save self- and other sentient beings at the fastest speed, the biggest and fastest secret is to practice and practice the most extraordinary exchange of self- and others. This secret is not the behavior of the Śrāvakas, but the most wonderful secret to the Mahayana Bodhisattva who seeks to quickly save all sentient beings.
