What is "like"? What is "sigh"? It is explained separately. “Praise is praise, and "sigh" is sigh. There is a saying in the "Amitabha Sutra" called "Singing and lamenting the virtues of Buddha." Therefore, "praise" means praise and sigh. All praise and sighs cannot be separated from words, so it is said that "the praise is unanimous."” ; “Therefore, it is called "mouth karma", so it is called "mouth karma".
one The praise of the truth
Praise others is praise yourself
From the conventional truth, it is a good thing to be able to practice and praise widely. If you often praise the people around you, others will praise you. In terms of cause and effect, if you praise others and rejoice from the bottom of your heart, you will be recognized, affirmed and praised by others.
I have written an article before, called "As soon as you praise you, you will step on." This is how people’s psychology is. If you praise him and praise him, he will work hard in the direction you praise and praise. Even the little donkey is like this. It is turning and grinding rice. You patted it on the back, "It's done well, try hard! ”It can understand the owner's meaning and walk more vigorously. The same goes for people. Churchill once said, "You can praise him as much as you want him. ”For example, when you want a person to become bad and he does bad things, you praise him hard, "Well done! ”He will keep doing this direction. When he does good deeds, if you praise him, he will become better and kind. Therefore, the human heart is very subtle, and admiration is like a carving of a wood carving.
Moreover, there is praise and rejoice. When you sincerely praise the other person, it will be difficult to become jealous ; If you are jealous, you cannot praise the other person. These two minds cannot coexist. Jealousy leads to jealousy, and "jealousy" follows "hate". But if you praise the other person, you will not be jealous, and the other person’s merit will become your merit. The other person has 100 points of merit, and when you come, you will also have 100 points of rejoicing. This is how you rejoice.
In fact, every sentient being has something to be admired. Even in the eyes of ordinary people, he may not be that good. He may be a villain, but he also has his highlights. Moreover, when people praise others, they are comfortable, and they are comfortable at the same time. People who are used to praising others must like to look at people's strengths and do not like to look at people's weaknesses. Only by being able to discover the other party’s strengths can one be admired.
two The true praise
Praise the Buddha to obtain infinite merits
From the true meaning, we must praise the virtues of Buddha. Because the Buddha's virtues are infinite, the praises sentient beings towards the Buddha are infinite and boundless, and the merits they obtain are also infinite and boundless.
《The Avatamsaka Sutra is the earliest sutra spoken by the Buddha. Before the Buddha became a Buddha, he sat under the Bodhi tree and said, "If you do not attain enlightenment, you will not get up at the seat." Then on the 49th day, I saw the stars at night and became a Buddha. After becoming a Buddha, he did not get up and immediately talked about the "Avatamsaka Sutra". If we read this sutra, we will find something very fun. A large part of the sutra was said by Sakyamuni Buddha, but the Bodhisattvas from all directions lined up to praise Sakyamuni Buddha one by one. Everyone speaks differently, each with their own praises, about hundreds of thousands of words, all of which praise Shakyamuni Buddha. Therefore, sentient beings’ praises to the Buddha are endless.
《The ten great vows of Kings in the Avatamsaka Sutra are the first to respect all Buddhas, and the second to praise the Tathagata. Even if a person is covered with tongue and praises the Buddha's virtues, one great kalpa, one hundred kalpa, or ten thousand kalpa, he will never be praised, and there will be no end to one day.
There is a verse I don’t know if you have heard it, “There is no Buddha in heaven and the world, and there is no one in the ten directions. All I see in the world, and nothing is like Buddha.” Do you know how this verse comes from? It was when Shakyamuni Buddha had not yet become a Buddha, and in a certain previous life, when he was a Bodhisattva, he practiced the Bodhisattva path with Maitreya Bodhisattva. Originally, the state of Maitreya Bodhisattva's practice exceeded that of Sakyamuni Buddha's ninety billion kalpas, which means that Sakyamuni Buddha would practice another ninety billion kalpas. At the same time, Maitreya Bodhisattva is in a state of pause and has not practiced, so that he can catch up with Maitreya Bodhisattva.
As a result, one day, Sakyamuni Buddha saw the spiritual ritual of the Tathagata, which was solemn and solemn. He blurted out his mouth and praised the Buddha. These four verses: "There is no Buddha in heaven and the world in the ten directions, and there is no Buddha in the world. ”As soon as this verse was released, it immediately surpassed Maitreya Bodhisattva, and as a result, it became a Buddha earlier than Maitreya Bodhisattva. Now Maitreya Bodhisattva is still waiting in the inner courtyard of Tushita to become a Buddha, and Shakyamuni Buddha has been wandering around our world. Therefore, the merits of praising the Buddha are also infinite.
three Praise from Pure Land Sect
Recite the Buddha's name and become a Buddha
《The door of praise mentioned in the Treatise on Rebirth is one of the five thoughts, which is a method and method of practice. The object of praise that the Bodhisattva of Heavenly Religion refers to is Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, especially the praise of Amitabha Buddha. So, how do you praise Amitabha? It is called a name.
《The Notes on the Treatise on Rebirth says: "The name of the Tathagata is like the light and wise appearance of the Tathagata, like that name, and the corresponding practice is true. ”“Calling the name of that Tathagata," the first one is praise. How can praise mention title? Because there is no praise without chanting the name, and chanting the name of the Buddha itself is praise. “Who does that Tathagata mean? Amitabha. “That" means "that Amitabha Buddha", and "that Tathagata name" means "that Amitabha Buddha name.
The name of Buddha is "like the light and wisdom of the Tathagata", just like the light and wisdom of the Tathagata, that is, the light and wisdom of the Tathagata, because Amitabha Buddha has infinite light and life.
“Like that name”, just like the connotation and profound meaning of the name of Amitabha Tathagata itself. “"Noun" means the meaning of making a name. By calling the Buddha's name, you will get the connotation of the name itself.
“Because of the desire to practice according to the truth, why is this for? It means that you can finally reach the state of true practice.
It is said that the Buddha’s light and wisdom have no direct intersection with us ordinary people. Why? If there is intersection, ordinary people must move closer to the state of Buddha step by step through various practices. Just like going up the steps, if there are a thousand steps, you have to climb step by step. The closer you get to the Buddha's realm, the more you can feel the light of the Buddha and the wisdom of the Buddha, that is, the "light wisdom of the light". If you have a few points of correspondence, you can experience it.
But the Pure Land Dharma is different. It can make the Buddha's wise appearance intersect with an ordinary ordinary person who has no afflictions. Originally, we couldn't get up this step at all, "and like a bad man, he couldn't get up with a donkey." We couldn't even get up with a little donkey. However, such an ordinary ordinary person can touch the Buddha's wisdom. What is the way to touch? It is to "calling the name of that Tathagata".
In the process of naming, we can all obtain the meaning and content of the name itself, which is "as if it is that name". For example, if there is 10 million yuan in a check, all of these 10 million can be fulfilled. This is called "as in that name" and "as in that check". If you only exchange 10 million checks for 100 yuan, then it is "not as good as that check."
Therefore, as long as we recite the Buddha's name, we can obtain all the merits of Amitabha Buddha and be reborn in the Pure Land and become a Buddha.
