由此可见,悟与证是两回事。理上悟了,还不能了脱存亡,还必须继续修行断见思二惑,断尽见思二惑那才真正证四果阿罗汉,了脱存亡轮回。再继续修至断尽尘沙惑证十信位菩萨。继续断一品无明惑,证初住位菩萨……一直不断断无明惑,直至无明惑断尽才是成果觉行满意的佛果。所以靠自力修行成佛,其实并不简单,由于我们人的寿数有限,在未修成时寿数若完毕,那么再轮回就不一定会继续修行,这也是为什么很多祖师大德建议往生极乐修行成佛的原因。
断见惑如断四十里流,况思惑乎?
