Dilgo Khyentse: Treat all those who harm you as precious treasures!

Tibetan Buddhism Buddhism

There are three types of patience. The first type of patience is to endure any harm that people cause you without anger.

The second type of patience is to endure without sadness any hardships you may experience in pursuing the Dharma.; The third kind of patience is to face the profound meaning of Buddhism and the immeasurable merits of the Three Jewels without fear.

As for the first type of tolerance, when you feel hurt by someone, remember that the harm that person inflicted on you is a direct result of your past harm to others.

Consider that this person is so controlled by delusion that he feels like a man possessed and is irresistibly tempted to hurt you. The result of hurting you is that he will suffer in the next three realms of reincarnation in the next life.

Thinking about how terrible that would be makes you feel sad and pity instead of angry. You should also remember that if you can accept all the harm patiently, most of the bad karma you have committed in the past will be purified.

You will also accumulate merit and wisdom. Therefore, although this person may appear to be hurting you, he is actually giving you a great favor.; That person is a true Dharma friend. To express your gratitude, give him the merit you have accumulated.

Look at all such situations this way. When someone hurts you, train yourself not to get upset, not to seek revenge, and definitely not to harbor any resentment.

Furthermore, when you examine more deeply what happened, you will see that there is no inherent existence in the person being hurt, in the person hurting others, or in the act of hurting itself.

Who can be angry at delusion? In these empty phenomena, what is there to gain or lose, what is there to desire or reject? As for the second type of patience, it is to endure hardships for the sake of Buddhism.

In order to be able to practice the Dharma, you may have to endure illness, or suffer from heat, cold, hunger or thirst. However, because these short-term pains help purify past bad karma.

And in the long run, they can help you reach the state of ultimate Buddhahood, so accept pain with joy.

Just like a swan gliding into the lotus pond! In "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way", Master Shantideva said: When a person sentenced to death cuts off his hands in exchange for freedom, doesn't he feel relieved?

Likewise, shouldn’t I be happy that I endured illness and avoided hell? The third kind of patience is to have deep, inner courage ; This courage is prepared to work for many kalpas for the sake of all sentient beings, out of compassion.

And face without any fear the supreme truth of the teachings, which is that, at the ultimate level, the essence of all phenomena is emptiness; Emptiness appears as radiant clarity.

There is a Buddha nature, a self-generated, unsynthesized primordial wisdom, and an absolute truth that transcends the realm of intellect. If you are afraid to accept the reality of emptiness, criticize practices such as Dzogchen.

Through Dzogchen, we can understand the true nature of all phenomena - which is the essence of rejecting Buddhism and preparing you to fall into the lower three realms of reincarnation.

When the Lord Buddha taught the profound teaching of emptiness, some of the monks present were panicked by the profound truth of the teaching. They were so panicked that they vomited blood and died on the spot.

These truths are definitely not easy to measure, but the most important thing is to strive to understand their true meaning and not to have negative opinions about them.

Manjushri's bravery, wisdom and wisdom are also restored

I now dedicate myself to the roots of good deeds and practice them all the time

The Buddhas of the three generations praised this as the most superior of all great wishes.

I now dedicate myself to the roots of good deeds in order to achieve the extraordinary deeds of Universal Worthy

May all sentient beings be free from suffering and achieve happiness
