Milarepa tells you the relationship between faith and the Dharma

Before the Milarepa practiced the Dharma, he used mantras to kill many people. Because I believe in cause and effect, I think I will definitely fall into the evil path. Therefore, you will practice more diligently than ordinary people.

The disciples asked the Venerable: "Master! You must be the reincarnation of the Vajra Buddha. Otherwise, if you have killed so many people, logically speaking, you should go to hell. How could one become such a great achiever after practicing throughout one's life?" They believed that the master must be the incarnation of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and from a great sinner to an accomplishment in this life, it was a manifestation.

The Venerable replied: "Your thoughts are a manifestation of faith in the master. But from the perspective of the Dharma, it is a kind of wrong view. The great Buddha tells us that the karma of cause and effect is true and true. You don’t believe it! You don’t believe that the karma of cause and effect will mature quickly, so no one is as diligent as me. It is precisely because I know that according to the cause and effect, I will definitely go to hell. Therefore, I have tried my best to repent and practice diligently to achieve today's achievements. I have the ability to do it, and you can do it too. I never doubted the meaning taught by the Buddha. ”

The Venerable's answer pointed out that the disciple cannot be as diligent as he does not have complete faith in cause and effect. He also encourages the disciple with his own life experience: as long as he is honest with cause and effect, he can practice diligently and will eventually achieve success.

Therefore, the Milarepa told us a secret: we must believe in cause and effect without doubt. If you really believe in cause and effect, just take one-third of your attachment to your children, relatives, partners, career, fame and fortune, etc. in the world, and I think each of you will be reborn well.

I once joked with a few disciples who do direct sales, "You have taken out one-third of your time to practice from direct sales, and maybe you will be transformed into a rainbow light. ”The question is, is anyone willing? If you don’t, you can’t do anything. Because everyone actually doesn’t have that high level of confidence in cause and effect.
