The fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, Moonlight Bodhisattva Christmas anniversary.Moonlight Bodhisattva is also translated as Moonlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight shines all over the body.The Medicine Buddha Sutra says:“In this country, there are two Bodhisattvas, Mahasattvas:One shines all over the sun, two shines all over the moon，It is the top of countless Bodhisattvas.” according to《According to the Medicine Buddha's Ritual Altar Method, Moonlight Bodhisattva's body is white and holding the moon in his handWheel, sitting on the gooseOn the seat;However, this statue is quite different from those passed down from generation to generation. All the statues created in history are established, and Moonlight Bodhisattva stands in the Medicine Buddha.Come to the right.

Moonlight Bodhisattva has different opinions on his origins, and there are three general explanations:

Legend 1:He was an ancient Indian emperor, the Buddha before practicing Bodhisattva practice in his past lives.According to the 6th volume of Buddhist Sutra of Wise and Fool, Moonlight Bodhisattva Sutra, and Great Treasure Accumulation Sutra, "This king has great power and virtue. Later, he gave his head to the Brahmins to satisfy the practice of Tanipa Miravata, also known as Moonlight Bodhisattva.”

Legend 2:During the Buddha's time, the different name of King Bosina, the Kingdom of Sarvas in India.The Prajna Paramita Sutra of the Kingdom of Ninja Protector: "The king of Sarvastiva, named Moonlight."Persina, Sanskrit name Prasenajit， Bali name Pasenadi， It is also called "Love" King, "Lu" and "Lu" as "Love" King.It is translated as King of Winning Army, King of Winning Light, King of Heyue, King of Moonlight, and King of Mingguang.He was the king of the Central India's Khasara Kingdom. He was a great protector of the Buddhist sect at the same time as the Buddha. He also led the Kingdom of Youkashi and ranked as a powerful country with the Kingdom of Magadha.The king was violent and unfaithful. After returning to the Buddha, he was repeatedly taught by the Buddha and believed in Buddhism. He once asked and answered questions and answered with his wife Moriga and concluded that "everyone loves himself deeply."Later, I asked the Buddha for advice, and his dialogue is still well-known throughout the world.

Legend Three：Moonlight Bodhisattva is also known as Moonlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight shines all over the body.Moonlight Bodhisattva is the right side of the Medicine Buddha in the Eastern Pure Glazed World, and the left side of the Medicine Buddha, and the two major auxiliary side of the Medicine Buddha.Medicine Buddha, Moonlight Bodhisattva and Sunlight Bodhisattva are collectively called the "Three Saints of the East".It is also said that Medicine Buddha Tathagata, Sun and Moonlight Bodhisattva were originally fathers and sons. He diligently practiced the Brahmacharya in the Dharma movement of Lightning Tathagata. He was instructed by Lightning Tathagata to change his name to the Medical King, Sun and Moonlight, and made the supreme bodhi vow to save all sentient beings from the suffering of reincarnation.

Moonlight Bodhisattva’s vows are to help sentient beings find the light in their hearts.According to the Buddhist scriptures, our self-nature is self-complete, with infinite wisdom and virtue, and is originally as bright as the moon, but due to the obstacles of delusion and attachment, the light of our self-nature cannot be revealed.

Therefore, we often place light and perfect wishes on the bright moon in the sky.The moonlight is like the light of our own nature. When we see the moon, we should use the power of the Moonlight Bodhisattva to let go of our inner world.The attachment and delusion of the mind can see the light of our nature and find the power we have.People have joys and sorrows, and the moon has phases and waxing, and impermanence is constant. Even if you have seen all the warmth and coldness of human feelings and the coldness of the world, as long as you can keep the light in our hearts and not be transformed by external circumstances, you can warm the world and illuminate the world.
