Master Jinfan talked about in the Hall of the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas

Every year, I see many people come to worship the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Treasure Repentance". The Buddha Hall is full, the Yansheng Hall is full, and the Ancestor Hall is full, and I can't even get around the Buddha.There is a question that I am very interested in. Everyone comes to the Holy City of Wanfo, including myself.This story may look like this now, but if you move the time forward or backward, the story will change.Because sometimes we only see points, not lines.

Once I went to Berkeley Temple and met a lay Buddhist.I asked him, "How long have you been here?" He said that it has been 19 years since 1996.That year he moved to Berkeley from New York. When he went to Berkeley Temple, he felt like he had returned home, and later he met the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.He said that when he was in middle school, about 1980s, his grandmother had already become a monk in the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.

At that time, he didn't know about the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. It was not until he came to study in the United States and moved from New York to Berkeley after graduation: "Oh! It turns out that the place where my grandmother became a monk was the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas."In 2012, he connected all the things that happened in the past one by one before he realized that he had a fate with the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas very early.

On the first day of repentance, a lay Buddhist greeted me.Last year, this lay Buddhist signed up for the Bodhisattva Precepts in the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. During the review, we found that he did not even convert, so we replied that he was not qualified.Although there is no rigid rule that the Bodhisattva precepts must first accept the Three Refuges and Five Precepts, in the order of taking the precepts, you should first accept the Three Refuges and Five Precepts, and then take the Bodhisattva precepts after taking the precepts.So I suggested that he could go to a nearby temple to receive the Three Refuges and Five Precepts first.

He lived in eastern Canada and finally found a temple, but that temple only taught the Three Refuges and not the Five Precepts.He was very discouraged and wrote a letter saying, "Maybe the cause and condition are not ripe, so you can go to the holy city to take the Bodhisattva precepts."We have no choice, because there are not temples everywhere in remote places.Later I received an email saying that Master Henglai was going to the Huayan Temple in Canada to preach the Three Refuges and Five Precepts.I told him the news, so he received the Five Precepts in Huayan Holy Temple.In August last year, I successfully came to the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas to receive the Bodhisattva Precepts.

There is another story.In 2000, a lay Buddhist accompanied his mother from Taiwan to worship the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Treasure Repentance".

My mother wanted to confess, but he just came with her, thinking that she would go and see her well after the end.So he didn't want to come to repent, but came because he was filial to his mother.As a result, I participated in the confession and seemed to be very happy and in line with it.In this way, I came to worship again the next year. This time I was not with my mother, but I was willing to come; in the third year, I came to become a monk.

After becoming a monk, I saw that he liked to repent.The "Ten Thousand Buddhas Treasure Repentance" lasted for twenty-three days. Each of his incense was very punctual, neither late nor early. It has been like this for ten consecutive years.This is his special cause.

You see, a person was not going to come to repent, but later it was so consistent with this method of repentance.What is this? I think in my past life, he must have practiced this method, so he has such a fate with the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Treasure Repentance".In this life, when he was confused, the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Treasure Repentance" took him back.

Master Gangyan mentioned that human nature is elusive when he talked about the story of Master Bodhidharma.What exactly is human nature like? In fact, human nature, or our heart, has good nature and evil nature.This good and evil nature exists in everyone's heart, but only when the conditions are met can the good nature be revealed. The same is true for evil nature.Therefore, if we have good nature plus good external conditions, we want to practice; evil nature is originally unmoving, but when we encounter bad friends or evil environments, our viciousness will increase and we will create a lot of evil karma.

Therefore, the fourth great vow of Samantabhadra Practice and Vows ──Repent to my karma, and say, "The Bodhisattva thought that in the past countless kalpas, I have committed countless evil karmas, from greed, anger, and ignorance, and from my body, speech and mind.If this evil karma has a physical appearance, it cannot be tolerated in the entire universe."Where does this greed, anger and ignorance come from? It is our thought.Viciousness is originally lurking; when bad karma comes, it is triggered.Just like seeds, if they are planted in the soil, there is moisture, sunlight, and air, they will grow; if they are placed in the refrigerator or planted on stones, they will not grow, that is, they will not have that fate.

Therefore, good relationships are very important when practicing.We must make good connections with others, make good connections with the Three Jewels, make good connections with the practice method, and make good connections with the temple.Because the deeper the fate, when you are confused, these causes and conditions will be ripe and will take you back.So many people come to repent because there were good causes and conditions in their past lives; when the causes and conditions are ripe, you will naturally return to the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas.

Finally, we encourage everyone to return to the Holy City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, often come to worship the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Treasure Repentance", or participate in other Dharma Assembly.The relationship with the Holy City and all the practice methods of the Holy City is deeper, and you will definitely come back in the future!
