A few words from the Buddha include all the teachings of Dharma

Buddhist knowledge

There is a hiddenPracticeHe lives near the present Mumbai, and he is a person with good practice. All those who meet him respect him because of his pure heart, and many people think he is a completely free person.

With so much praise, the man began to believe: “I may be a truly totally liberated person."However, honesty by nature made him carefully check his heart and find that his heart is still contaminated.Of course, as long as there is defilement, he has not reached the state of complete liberation. So he asked the people who paid tribute to him: "Is there a saint who is fully liberated in this world?" "Yes," they replied: "There was a monk named Gotham, who lived in the city of Sarvasti, a saint who was completely liberated, and he taught people how to achieve liberation."I must meet this saint," the hermit made up his mind.“I had to learn from him the way to be completely relieved."Therefore, the practitioner set out from Mumbai, passed through central India and finally arrived at the city of Schaeve, which is located in Utapatash, now in northern India. After arriving at the city of Sarvasti, he went to the Buddha's Vipassana center and asked about where the Buddha was.

“He has gone out," a monk replied, "He went to the city to beg for food, please rest and wait here, and he will be back soon.”

“No, I can't wait.I don't have time to wait! Please tell me where he is going, I'm going to find him.”

“OK! If you have to go find him, you can follow this road, which he sets off from this road."The hermit immediately went out again and arrived at the center of the city. He saw a monk begging along the street, and the monk exuded an incredible calm and peaceful temperament. The hermit thought he must be the Buddha, so he asked a passerby and confirmed his thoughts.

Just in the middle of the street, the hermit walked towards the Buddha, bowed to him, and touched the Buddha's feet, "Saint!" said the practitioner, "I heard that you have been completely liberated and teach the method of liberation. Please teach me this method!”

The Buddha said, “Yes, I teach this method and I can teach you. However, the current time and location are not appropriate. Please go back to the Vipassana center and wait for me. I will go back and teach you this method soon.”

“No! Saint, I can't wait.”

“Can't you wait half an hour?"

“No! Saint, I can't wait any longer! Maybe within half an hour, I will die, or you will die, or my faith in you will completely disappear, then I will not be able to learn this method.Saint! Now is the time, please teach me now!"

The Buddha looked at him and found: "Yes, this man has not much time left, he will die in a few minutes, and he must be taught by the Dharma at this time and here."But, how to spread the Dharma in the middle of this road? The Buddha only said a few words, but these words contain all the teachings: when you look, you just look; when you listen, you just listen; when you smell, taste, and touch, you just smell, taste, and touch; when you know, you just know.

When the six senses of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind come into contact with the six dusts of form, sound, fragrance, taste, touch, and Dharma, there should be no value judgment, nor a discriminatory mind that follows the old habits. When we begin to tell whether an experience is good or bad, the blind reactions of the past will make us look at things from a distorted perspective. In order to free the mind from various constraints, we must learn to judge things without judging past habitual reactions, but just stay aware, make value judgments, and have no habitual reactions.

Since the heart of this hermit was already very pure, a few words of teaching were enough.Just next to the road, he sat down, focused on observing his body and mind, without making any value judgments or having any habitual reactions. He simply observed the various changes in his body and mind.In the last few minutes of his life, he achieved his ultimate goal and became a completely freeconsciousness.
