Mr. Nengxu recalled: "A neighbor from the door, my surname is Jin, his name is Jin Desheng, and he is my classmate.He was only nineteen that year, two years older than me, and got married on the same day as me.At that time, he also suffered from seasonal illness and died one day and one night. It was only four days before his marriage. The guests who congratulated each other had not left in the yard.His mother cried to the death. Before his wife took off her red clothes, she immediately changed into white clothes and pulled up the mourning rope. No one of them looked sad!”

So after watching him die, he felt very excited! He felt that "life is too meaningless, I don't know when I will die?" "Human life is impermanent, why do I die so quickly? Can I be assured to avoid getting sick? Can I be assured to not die after getting sick?" So, the old master was so depressed at that time.However, unfortunate things came to him.So he went to the King of Hell to argue, and then the King of Hell let him return to the sun.

Regarding going to the underworld, the old master said:

“At that time, people with seasonal symptoms were most afraid of having stomach problems. As long as the stomach sounded, they would die in a few days! This disease was at that time; it seemed like there was evil spirit!

After I went back to classmate Jin's house, when it was dark, I felt a stomachache and a rumbling sound inside.I thought to myself: It's bad! I'm afraid I'm going to die too, but I'm afraid that my mother will be worried when she finds out, so she dares not say anything.So I took off my jacket, put my waist around and went to bed.At this time, I was scared and my stomach hurt again. After a while, it hurt me like a dream.In fact, it’s not about dreaming; it’s about not knowing that you are dead!

Although he was dead, he was confused like a dream. He saw two ghosts holding me up, floating around. After passing many mountains and a lot of water, he felt that he was on the water and flew over.

Later, the two ghosts carried me to the entrance of a temple, like a yamen, with many houses inside. The two ghosts pushed me into the house and said, "Get in!" He looked very vicious and said in anger: "Wait for the court here!"

At this time, I realized that I had died in the underworld, and I felt very upset and sad! I remembered my mother's words and said that I was not easy to support me, which proved that it was good at this time.

I waited there for a while, thinking about it for a long time, but there was no sound around me.Looking back, there was a accountant in the room. He was holding a pen and didn't know what to write, and there was no one else outside.I thought: It doesn’t matter if I die. In front of my mother, I am the only one. If I really die from now on, my mother will cry too much. What should I do? So I slowly walked to the account writing, and found a way to get in touch with him and said something close to me:

‘Sir! I asked very kindly and politely: 'What crime did I commit? I asked me to come and have a court hearing!

‘Don't know! He answered.

‘Where did I go to court? I asked again:

‘From here to back, it is the place to pass the court!

‘Who is in charge of the court? I asked one by one:

‘ !He said in surprise: 'Do you think you are still in the world? You are a dead ghost now. When you pass the court, the King of Hell will ask about the case. Don't you know this? While he said, he continued to write without even looking back.

Later, I pondered for a long time and asked again: 'I canReincarnationIs it?

That gentleman, he was tired of hearing what I asked him. When I asked him, if he could be reincarnated, he agreed impatiently: 'I don't know! You will naturally understand after the class.When he said this, he still lowered his head and wrote down.

After staying there for a while, I suddenly remembered the fact that chanting scriptures and summoning souls among the heretics. Is this true or false? Is it useful or not? I asked him this. He suddenly stopped writing and turned around and said, "This is true, this is true in the underworld."At the same time, he pointed to the wooden boards on the wall and said, "The seats on these boards have just died and asked them to wait for his descendants to recite scriptures and save them. If they live too many days, it will not be easy to bring them out."I looked at the boards he pointed to, and there were indeed many names, incense paper scriptures, etc. Then I asked, 'When will I go through the court? He said, 'Wait! The King of Hell is shaving his head behind him! Therefore, I remembered that when I was a child, Hu Di scolded Yan. I remember that the King of Hell was an ancient garment and an ancient crown, with a front and back crown. Why did the King of Hell also have braids and shaved his head?"

Regarding the debate with the King of Hell, Master Nengxu recalled:

“After staying there for a long time, the two ghosts came to carry me over the corridor and arrived in a hall. The two ghosts pushed me hard and threw me in. They fell, and I went in. It was pitch black inside and could not see anything. I heard someone ask:

‘Are you Wang Futing?

A very strange and rude voice came to my ears. My scientific name was Wang Futing. I knew that the King of Hell began to ask about the case, so I agreed casually: 'Yes! I am Wang Futing.

‘You know! You are dead! Now it’s time to send you reincarnation, the King of Hell continues to talk.I thought: I don’t know where to go. Since I have been reincarnated, I can’t go back home anymore. Isn’t my mother worried about me? Isn’t she crying? I’m so anxious that I’ll give him a question again:

‘Am I guilty?

‘You are innocent!

‘Since I am not guilty, why bother to reincarnate me? My mother is the only child like me. She has been spoiled since childhood. I am afraid that I will die. If I don’t go back, will she miss me? Is she not crying? Besides, it’s not easy to learn in life, and I have not done bad things in this life. I just knew that I should learn well. If I were asked to reincarnate and learn bad things, it would be better than in my life. How unfair would it be? I am refuting like this.

‘Lifespan is a fixed number, and we cannot just follow you! The King of Hell said.

‘When I was alive, I heard that chanting scriptures increases my life. Is my scriptures sing in vain? I asked again.

Originally, when I saw my uncle die, I was afraid of death and thought of a way to die.At that time, someone gave the Guanyin Sutra to King Gao, saying that reciting it a thousand times can avoid disaster and death.I bought a book, and at that time I thought: I probably finished reciting it in one go, and I spent two days and one night to recite it a thousand times.Since then, I have recited it several times every day with time, but I don’t know whether to die or not.

The King of Hell said: "Reciting scriptures is not in vain. You should die at the age of seventeen. It will increase your life for five years and live to twenty-two. This is not the chanting scriptures.MeritIs it?

‘Since chanting scriptures is beneficial, please let me go back to me and I will continue to chant scriptures and prolong my life. Isn’t that great!

‘Well—He said in a little disapproval: 'You can't just recite this kind of sutra!

After hearing what he said, I pondered in my heart and most of it was possible to be able to be compatible. Since I could not recite such a sutra, I would definitely recite other sutras and say in response:

‘If I let me go back, I will recite the Diamond Sutra ten times a day.

Originally, there were people who gave gifts to the Diamond Sutra in our village. I only heard of this name. I don’t know how many of this sutra are and what the content is.After hearing what I said, the King of Hell agreed, so he ordered the two ghosts to send me back.I walked very fast on the road, crossing mountains and wading, and the same way I took when I went.

After I came back, I looked at the south house in our house very clearly, with the gate facing east. After entering the gate, I heard that my mother was crying and mourning.Our three main halls are in the middle of the house, and my inner family is shaking pots. My body is lying on the kang. My mother is crying to death while guarding my body. Those two ghosts sent me to the original body and pushed me from behind, 'You should be healthy!

At this time, I woke up like a dream. Looking back at the outside, it was already red.”

Because Master Nengxu had such a personal experience when he was young, it prompted him to continue to pursue and pursue the truth of life and death in the future, and even to be firm in the endConvertBuddhism, becoming a monk and practicing, has made great contributions to the revitalization and spread of Buddhism in northern China.

The persuasiveness of such a great monk who appeared and made a great master was beyond doubt.

What will happen to a person after he dies?

《Ksitigarbha Sutra》Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva tells us: “The future is now and nowAll living beingsThen, at the end of your life, you will be able to hear the name of a Buddha, a Bodhisattva, or a Pratyekabuddha. You will be liberated without asking whether you are guilty or not.If there is a manchildPeople do not practice good deeds in life and commit many sins.After death, the relatives are small and big, and in order to benefit all the sacraments, they will gain one or six points of merit in seven parts, and the living will benefit themselves.Because of this, in the future, good men and women will learn from themselves and gain their own knowledge.The impermanent ghost comes unexpectedly, wandering around in the dark, and not knowing the blessings of sin.Within seven or seven days, you will be foolish and deaf, or debate the results of your career in various departments.After verification, you will be born according to your karma.In the past, there are thousands of sorrows, let alone falling into the evil realms.This is a person who has not been reborn. Within seven or seven days, every thought, he hopes that all his family members will benefit and save them.In the future, you will receive retribution according to your karma.If a sinner has been in action for thousands of years, there will be no day of liberation.If you have five sins of immortality, you will fall into the great hell, and you will suffer forever.”

After all, there are not many people who have been resurrected from the dead in this world, but the precious memory of Master Nengxu shocked me back then.After so many years, I have always been grateful to him and thanked this great master for his guidance and support beyond time and space.It is precisely because of his painful experience at the age of seventeen that has strengthened meLearn Buddhismbelief.
