3. Rules of offering
The offering master must not have discrimination
Why do lay people need to offer offerings to monks and protect monks?
Because monks concentrate on practicing Taoism, there are no more delusions or so many people in the world.trouble、envy.If this is possible, it is worthy of the respect and offerings of the lay family and deserve it.
If not seriousPractice,Even if it is not as pious as a layperson, he will not be qualified to be respected and offered to others. This is deeplyconsciousness,Do not mix fish with pearls and make a living in Buddhism.
When a family member offers to monks, you should not have discriminatory minds or selective minds. This master has practiced, and I want to offer to him; that master has no Taoism, and I don’t offer to him, so don’t have such an improper mentality.
No matter where you are, you should offer to the Three Jewels. Don’t pick on the faults of the Three Jewels and be nitpicking. If you are specializing in finding the faults of the Three Jewels, it is arrogance and arrogance, and there is no question of protecting the Three Jewels.
Don't ask the monk to offer
《There is a passage in the Shurangama Sutra that tells the story of Venerable Ananda who was invited by a separate invitation and met the Modangha girl. After she took him into the lustful room with the "Brahma Mantra", the Buddha said the "Shurangama Mantra" and asked Manjushri Bodhisattva to use this mantra to save Ananda back.
Venerable Ananda had this danger because he had been invited by others before, so he never accepted them again from then on.
Why don't you ask?
That is, among this group of monks, they went outside alone and were invited by a certain guardian or lay Buddhist to offer; they went to offer to offer separately, which is called receiving a separate request.
In the Buddha's system, monks cannot accept other invitations.
for example,
There are ten monks here, one of them, someonejoyHe is very destined to be with him. He can only invite him to dinner alone and offer sacrifices. This is not allowed! All ten monks must go together; only one person cannot go.
Then, after Venerable Ananda had received a separate invitation in the past, he knew that it was a mistake and would never receive a separate invitation in the future. This is also an incredible state for Venerable Ananda.
