Buddhism is based on the doctrine of cause and effect of the three worlds and the six reincarnations. The so-called three lifetimes are the past, present and future.
Long before Buddhism was introduced to China, our "I Ching" also talked about the law of cause and effect: "The house of accumulating good deeds will have residual blessings; Families that accumulate bad habits will inevitably face residual disasters. ”
Looking at the ancient Western culture, it is also based on cause and effect, because the law of cause and effect is the fundamental law of the universe. Marx, Darwin, and even Freud, many people have tried to overturn the law of cause and effect of the unity of mind and matter, and as a result, many people have also gone mad because of fear of cause and effect.

I have repeatedly emphasized that the Vimalakirti Sutra is closely related to the Lotus Sutra, the Medicine Buddha Sutra, and the Ksitigarbha Sutra. However, the Vimalakirti Sutra is as high as the white snow of spring, and some people are reluctant to read the Ksitigarbha Sutra, thinking that it is read by superstitious old women. However, the Ksitigarbha Sutra is the most difficult to understand, so the "Interpretation of the Great Righteousness of Rangyan" does not translate a passage about hell in the sutra, because it is afraid that it will be difficult for sentient beings to believe.
If you understand hell thoroughly, you can really practice. Everyone here who practices Buddhism, ask yourself, do you really believe in the cause and effect of the three lifetimes? Don't deceive yourself, sometimes don't believe it! Do you really believe in hell? The foundation of Buddhism, regardless of Mahayana or Mahayana, is based on the cause and effect of the three lifetimes and the six reincarnations, and most people reluctantly believe in it, but it is difficult to verify it.
