Khenpo Xi'an Rongbo: How to get rid of persistence!

The roots and causes and conditions of sentient beings are different, so the Buddha teaches according to his aptitude and teaches different methods, so that sentient beings with different qualities and preferences can have a method of liberation that suits them.

Some sentient beings are more likely to feel happy and faith in the method of explaining emptiness. The Buddha taught them the principle of "empty appearance of all dharmas" and to understand the reality from "empty"； Some sentient beings are more likely to develop joy and faith in the Pure Land Dharma, and the Buddha taught them to chant the Buddha's name and seek rebirth in the Pure Land.

“Whether it is emptiness or "pure land", they are all convenient and means, and they are all the fingers pointing to the moon. If you can see the moon in the direction pointed by your finger, it would be great. Why bother with whether this finger is fat or thin?

Secondly, emptiness does not mean extinction, it does not mean guarding a "emptiness". The Diamond Sutra says: "If one has no self, no person, no sentient beings, no life, practices all good deeds, and then attains the Anuttara Samyaksambodhi. ”You see, the Buddha did not teach us that "emptiness" has been taught, and we will hold on to the concept of "emptiness", do nothing, and look down on nothing.

“Form is emptiness". The Pure Land is emptiness, and the heart of yearning for the Pure Land is also emptiness. "Empty is form", emptiness is not destructive, and emptiness is not at all contradictory to the Pure Land and the Pure Land of Rebirth.

Only the Buddha who is perfect and supreme enlightenment can truly break out of the cage of cause and effect and be free and free. Although the Buddha did not intend to be secular cause and effect, he naturally did not transcend the laws of secular cause and effect in front of sentient beings. Ordinary people like us are completely dominated by cause and effect, and should be more cautious in choosing and excluding cause and effect and respect the laws of cause and effect.

Have faith in Amitabha Buddha and vow to be reborn in the Pure Land. If you have the conditions, you can be reborn in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha. Most people only hear the principle of emptiness and do not practice practical practice and experience the troubles will not be automatically eliminated.

If you have no faith in the Buddha, do not make a vow to be reborn, and do not purify your karma and eliminate all your troubles, you will have to continue reincarnation in the six realms. This is how cause and effect are, and there will be no confusion. In terms of insight, we are not afraid of Gao Zhuo ； In terms of behavior, we must respect cause and effect.

In the past, when I was making furniture or houses, I had to remove one wedge, and the method was to use another wedge to hit it, which is called using wedges to wedge out. If you have a thorn on your hand, use another thorn to pick it out.

Similarly, it is difficult for beginners to let go of all attachments at once, so Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are convenient to guide them to attach with attachments, teaching us to first use attachment to the Pure Land to eliminate attachment to the samsara. After truly being reborn in the Pure Land, flowers bloom and see the Buddha, at least they will see the realm of Bodhisattvas who have reached the stage of emptiness and attain the realm of Pure Land, and naturally there will be no attachment to the Pure Land.

There is no time when we ordinary people are not attached to or are not attached to the Pure Land, but we may be attached to any method taught by the Buddha. The Buddha said "impermanence", so we are attached to extinction ； The Buddha said "constant", so we are attached to the constant ruler. ； When the Buddha said "emptiness", we became attached to nothingness.

In fact, whether it is "impermanent, suffering, selfless, impure" or "permanent, happy, self, and purity" is all for the purpose of curing our attachments.

The Pure Land Dharma is very profound and subtle, and it is not something that ordinary people can guess at random with their discriminatory minds, and they can fully understand its special features. Whether it is a beginner or an old practice, whether it is ordinary aptitude or superior wisdom, you can practice the Pure Land method and gain real benefits. Therefore, all the countless Buddhas in the world of the Continental Sand Praise Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land and encourage sentient beings to vow to be reborn.

In our world, there are countless people who have been practicing great virtues and great achievements in our world, and actively advocate the Pure Land Method.

For example, the "Collection of Recitations of Exoteric and Enlightenment" we recite every day contains the "Wish of Bliss" written by Qiao Mei Rinpoche, a famous great master in modern Tibet who refuses to give up his body and flies directly to the pure land, and the "Wish of Bliss" written by Mipham Rinpoche, a great master of the Great Perfection and Manjushri Bodhisattva who appears on earth. The greatest guru of the Nyingma Papa, Ruyibao, has repeatedly vowed: All sentient beings who have formed a connection with him can be reborn in the Pure Land.

Do these great masters who have made us admire the Pure Land Dharma in both our view and practice and practice, so do they all have a deep obsession and do not understand what emptiness is? Mipham Rinpoche, who created the "Treasure Lamp Treatise on the Determination of the Lamp" at the age of seven, did he still want us to remind him not to be attached?

The Buddha is compassionate and sincere, and teaches this Pure Land method that is easy to practice and difficult to believe, so that ordinary people can use the power of the Buddha to obtain the three realms and be liberated from the cycle of reincarnation without the use of the Buddha's power. We should cherish and be grateful.
