「五十余年离杀业，手抛刀秤暗修行，

今朝得赴菩提路，水里莲花火里生。」

书毕，端坐而化，所有见闻的人无不瞻仰称叹。

转瞬三年过去，岁次辛巳年春天，忽然从空中飘来异香。围绕楼阁数日，粉壁上涌现佛像，庄严而精妙。这个消息远近传播，来瞻仰的人很多，如用净巾擦拭，色彩愈为光明。

周廷璋，号楚峰，明朝正德嘉靖年间，云南人，为人朴实忠厚，虔信佛法。他每天清晨起来，必定持诵金刚经、弥陀经及观音诸经。

刘道隆，明朝人，他的母亲李氏，四十岁时，发心长斋奉佛，但她不识字，不能诵经，遂整修一间静室，供奉观音大士及金刚经，朝夕焚香礼拜，以念佛千声为课，虽遇寒冬炎夏亦不停辍。

每逢严冬酷寒，家人担心她受冻，辄以炭火置放桌下取暖，她都挥手叫人取走。

李氏虽然不识字，不能诵经，但她却捐出钜资刻印金刚经，施送给与佛有缘的人请回受持读诵。

她每逢生日，子媳们打算替她做寿，她告诫媳妇不得以酒席宴客，不但全家茹素，她自己还礼忏一天或三天，这样的生活，过了二十五年。

陈朝亡后，孝克到了长安，隋文帝久闻他的名声和盛德，特颁诏令，请他在尚书都堂讲说金刚经。开皇十二年，徐孝克已经七十三岁，临终念佛，室中有异香，邻里都觉得惊异，并赞叹佛法的伟大。
