It is not about doing labor, but is called asceticism. Breaking the distinction between good and bad times is about practicing asceticism.Becoming a monk means suffering and suffering. Only in suffering can wisdom be developed.”
“People with many delusions need to do some chores and put their thoughts in a sustenance, otherwise they will be unable to recite the Buddha's name even if they want them to recite the Buddha's name. Only people with good roots can recite the Buddha's name quietly. While working and chanting the Buddha's name, they will gradually lose their sense of work and will naturally develop an equal mind.”
The old monk also said: "Pure precepts and practice are pure and the six senses are not stained. This is the first step toward meditation. It should be like a tortoise shrinking his head and staying in a pure and untainted state.If the six senses are impure, the false thoughts still exist, and the ignorance is not broken, and then it will not be enlightened.The incense board in the Zen hall is to beat your ignorance.”
