Impermanence is eternity!

Most people's pursuit of life starts from the three directions of material, spiritual and eternity.Material is a prerequisite for human life, including one's own body and living environment, which require material to obtain various satisfactions and enjoyment.

In modern society, due to the advancement of science and technology, material conditions have generally improved, and people live more comfortably. However, modern people are not happier than those who used to be. People who are worried still feel troubled, and even more painful than before.

Because desire is endless, the desire for material things can never bring true satisfaction and happiness, but can only bring some convenience. However, the so-called convenience is not absolute convenience, because on the one hand, it may also lose various advantages on the other hand.

For example, modern people live in large houses, with windows closed tightly and unventilated, air conditioning in the room, and various modern facilities, which seem to be very safe and enjoyable on the surface. However, the people living in the house are isolated from the natural air after all, so they also lose their connection with nature. Therefore, the pursuit of material things is not always reliable.

As for the spiritual pursuit, it is very abstract because this is everyone's inner feelings, knowledge, experience and experience. The levels of spiritual life vary from person to person. People with low spiritual levels cannot understand what meaning of life is beyond material things. However, people with spiritual life can understand some principles and ideas from reading, and reading is a kind of enjoyment for them.

As the saying goes, “There is a golden house in the book, and there is a beautiful woman in the book." This does not mean that reading will definitely bring material wealth, but rather that books can bring spiritual growth, sustenance and comfort. The same is true for art and religion, especially religious beliefs, believing in the kingdom of heaven, Buddha, Pure Land, or believing that there are gods, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas to help us in the dark. This is also a part of spiritual life.

As for eternity, it is actually impossible to find, because there is no such thing in the world.Buddhism talks about "impermanence". Nothing is ever-changing. Only the principle of "changing often" will never change, so impermanence is eternity. If we can understand that anything is changing at any time, not constantly or permanently, and do not cling to eternal existence, we can be liberated.

From the perspective of Buddhism, among the three things, matter, spirit and eternity, matter and spirit need to be improved, but eternity is empty and unreal, so we do not need to pursue eternity.

Pursuing and obsessing with illusory ideals will definitely cause problems. It is better to face reality down-to-earth.If you can live a very down-to-earth and clear life without feeling troubled or pain in real life, this is the best and most ultimate way of life.

Some people may doubt that since becoming a Buddha is the ultimate, isn’t Buddha eternal? In fact, the power of Buddha is everywhere and always there, but therefore it is equivalent to being everywhere and always there. He is not always in a fixed place, but he is not always in that place.

Although we usually cannot feel the existence of Buddha, whenever we need Buddha, his spirit and strength will naturally be with us.Therefore, true eternity means no eternity, but beyond eternity.
