What will happen if you recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra or do bad things?

If you recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra and want to do bad things, it will not protect you.

You have to practice according to the meaning of the Ksitigarbha Sutra. Some people recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra and want to do bad things. This does not protect you because your mind is different from that of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Although you still do bad things, because you often recite Ksitigarbha's holy name, your mind about doing bad things will change and you no longer want to do bad things.  

Like all our Taoist friends, no one dares to say that he has conquered the three poisons and can no longer afford troubles. No one can guarantee it, and no one can do it. However, if you often recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra and recite Ksitigarbha's holy name, your good roots will gradually strengthen, your evil thoughts or delusions and troubles will gradually reduce, and finally you will not do evil but only do good deeds. This is called "meditating", and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva will bless you.  

At the same time, the Buddha also said to the God of Solidity: Not only do you support this person who chants the sutra, but also the person who upholds the name, the followers of Brahma and the followers of all gods also come to support this person who practices Ksitigarbha Dharma.  

The Buddha explained to Jian Lao Di Shen: This is your personal motivation, and all other Buddhists, Brahma, and gods will come to support those who accept and uphold the Ksitigarbha Sutra. By supporting this person, these supporters also gain benefits, and they also share in the benefits. Why do these sages support him? Because he pays homage, reads and recites the Ksitigarbha Sutra, and even has the image of Ksitigarbha. This person who can read the Ksitigarbha Sutra and call Ksitigarbha's holy name can, after all, escape from the sea of ​​suffering and will surely achieve ultimate nirvana, so he can gain great support. These are the exact words spoken by the Buddha to the God of Solid Earth.  

Therefore, in the last few chapters of the Ksitigarbha Sutra, Sakyamuni Buddha all praises the merits of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, but the one everyone is familiar with is Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who himself is the savior of the Saha world in South Jambudvipa.
