Every time we have a good thought, we will leave a good seed in our hearts and a bad thought, we will leave a bad seed in our hearts. When encountering the right cause and effect, it will bear fruit. The seeds of goodness bear happiness and good fortune; The fruits of evil seeds are distress and disaster. Therefore, the Sixth Patriarch's Platform Sutra says: "All the fields of blessings cannot be separated from the mind. ” Whenever we do something, say a word, or even have a thought, we are sowing causes and creating karma. Depending on the good or bad cause you sow, that is, the good or bad karma you have created, you will suffer different consequences. In summary, good will be rewarded with good, and evil will be rewarded with evil. Specifically, the kind of good cause there is a kind of blessing; the kind of bad cause there is a kind of suffering reward, and the kind of bad cause there is a certainty. This is an objective law, called the law of cause and effect. The monk Fayan of the Song Dynasty said well: "You cannot enjoy the end of blessings. If you enjoy the blessings all, the source of happiness and happiness will be exhausted! ”Therefore, we must cherish our blessings and never waste natural resources or discard anything that can be used. For example: We will never leave too much food, and we must not leave rice grains in the bowl for every meal. It is better to keep the leftover food for the next meal, and never overeat. Eating oversatisfaction will make you lose money. Eating too much is not only harmful to the stomach, but also damages life and causes illness. Not only should you cherish your blessings in terms of food, but you should also cherish your blessings in other daily clothes and utensils. Don’t want to buy things when you see them. Because if the things you buy are not practical, no matter how cheap it is, it is a waste. It’s not as good as buying things is not cheap, but you need to consider whether the price and quality of the things are appropriate. At the same time, be cautious about the words and do not discard the words and paper casually. In short, we must always develop a sense of respect and cherishing things. Giving is like depositing money in a bank, accepting other people's alms is like receiving deposits, and enjoying blessings is like spending the money you receive, so the more you give alms, the greater the blessings you will be. To constantly accept other people’s alms is to eliminate blessings. Therefore, smart people like to give alms and do not accept other people's gifts casually. When he accepts other people's alms, he is to make good friends and will quickly transfer the accepted property. People who truly know how to give alms will not love fame and fortune, and will not be greedy for blessings. Because if he does good deeds for the sake of merit and gives alms for blessings, then the good deeds he gives will be hypocritical and troubled. Doing good deeds and hope for retribution and fame and fortune is just a manifestation of selfishness to seek satisfaction. Therefore, when we give alms and do good deeds, we must abandon the idea of accumulating merits and the consciousness of greed for fame and fortune. This is the real great alms. This kind of unintentional good deed is the most natural and noblest. From this we can know:Giving is unknown to everyone is the true goodOK。Only giving alms, but not giving up fame and fortune, is not a complete alms. So:A pure mind is the true gift, and a pure mind is the greatest blessing.Regarding accepting other people's alms, there was a couplet in ancient times: "Water cannot be eliminated before the three minds are completed, and gold cannot be transformed without a single thought. ”This means: if someone with greed, hatred and ignorant hearts is only given to you a cup of boiled water, it will be difficult for you to digest it if you drink it. If your mind is pure and without any delusions, even if others give you precious gold, you will easily be able to absorb it.There is another similar poem: "The donor has a grain of rice, as big as Mount Sumeru. He will not reach the Tao in this life, and will return with horns. ”This Zen poem tells us: If our wisdom and virtue are not good, and we will accept a kind of gift from others casually, even if we become an animal in the next life, we will still have to repay it. Diligent accumulation of good deeds is much better than enjoying blessings, so the sages and wise men taught us to work hard to do good deeds and help others。For example: printing and sending scriptures, building temples, building bridges and paving roads, saving disasters and poverty, treating people with kindness, being kind to the lonely, respecting the elderly and respecting the wise, giving clothes when you are cold, giving food when you are hungry, giving medicinal materials when you are sick, giving tea to relieve pedestrians' thirst and heat, lighting night lights to make roads, building boats and rafts to cross people across the river, etc.Manjushri's bravery and wisdom, Samantabhadra's wisdom will be the same
