Why are there always many "villains" around you?

Tibetan Buddhism Buddhism

I often hear people complaining that there are always many villains around me and are often framed, and I always feel that someone sets traps for him.“Why is Zhang San like this? Li Si has no morals at all! Is Wang Wu setting a trap for me..." We are always complaining endlessly.

There are many reasons why this situation occurs generally. From the perspective of cause and effect in Buddhism, this is because of the retribution we have done in the past; from the perspective of our practice, this is that our practice is too poor and we cannot observe that everything in the world is equal; from our perspective, we are always pursuing outside and not knowing to seek inside...

In fact, the biggest problem here is our conceptual problem, which is the problem of insufficient practice.Because we have formed such a complaining habit since time immemorial, we pursue everything outside and do not know how to look for it in ourselves; we always want to change others or the outside world, and do not know how to change ourselves.

However, the outside world cannot change, or it is difficult to change. The only thing we can change is ourselves. Most of the time, when we feel like we are framed, we will take corresponding "measures" to deal with the so-called "adversity" or "trap" we are in, and we always want to escape from it.

The result was counterproductive. The more you escaped, the further you fell, the deeper you fell, and you would never be able to get rid of it for the rest of your life. This will naturally fall into a vicious cycle of cause and effect, trapping yourself in the quagmire of misunderstanding, framed, and designed, and unable to extricate yourself.

From the perspective of Buddhism in grasping the present, even when we fall into a trap, we must grasp the present well, and do not complain, regret, or blame others; instead, we must work hard to do the best things based on the current situation. This is the "Three Nons of Zen Mind" - the best implementation of no regrets in the past, no resentment in the present, and no worries in the future. This is the best manifestation of the great wisdom of Buddhism.

From the extreme of Buddhism, everything is equal, and there are no traps or traps at all.The so-called being designed to fall into a trap is just a manifestation of our own inequality.Because we can work hard and face reality in such an environment where we think we are framed by others, and even do better in such a harsh environment.

In this way, the "trap" has become the "blessing power" that helps us.Of course, it is normal for most people to adapt because the environment suddenly becomes harsh. As the saying goes, "There is no bitterness that cannot be endured, only blessings that cannot be enjoyed." By learning Buddhism, we can face severe environmental mutations, and slowly adapt to or even transform harsh environmental mutations...

In the end, we will be grateful for such a harsh environment and these "traps".As long as we adjust our mentality and change our understanding of "villain" and "trap", we can make a difference in this new world of "trap".

As long as we work hard to face all this, we can transform from a passive situation to an active situation; we can transform from a resentful situation to a grateful situation. This is why the Buddha taught us to be our own masters.

Therefore, when we feel framed by others, don’t regret, don’t resent, and don’t fight. We can face and transform with our own efforts. As the saying goes, "Troubles are Bodhi", this is a very important means for us to face life correctly; it is the source of our gratitude to the world; it is the realization of our tolerance of the world; it is the implementation of our sharing of achievements.

In short, when facing adverse conditions and adversity, the best way is to treat it as a new object of effort, settle in this environment with adverse conditions, grasp the present, and strive to face and change this new environment.
