The determination to leave samsara

The source of purity

A hidden yogi is a practitioner who does not mingle with others or is involved in worldly activities, neither seeking fame nor followers. He has a good understanding of practice An irresistible eagerness and a determination to grasp the root of the Dharma - to leave samsara. Now you may be thinking, "What will happen if I give up all worldly activities now?" How do I find food, shelter and other things? "If you allow these delusional doubts and uneases to dominate the rest of your life, you will only make the web of reincarnation tighter. Once these ingrained habits persist, so does the pain. Unless you really hate worldly life and are content with everything you have at the moment, you will not be a good Dharma practitioner.

Thinking about all this, sorrow, disgust and determination arise: witnessing the condition of sentient beings, you are powerless and sad; The thought of continuing to drift in the cycle of depravity made him feel disgusted and decided to do something by practicing Buddhism.

We are urged to introspect our own faults and the faults of reincarnation. Only then will we realize that we are mediocrely busy with our careers and other self-centered activities, which is nothing more than self-deception, because we are all bound by likes and dislikes, greedy for friends and resentful of enemies. Knowing how meaningless these are, you will naturally get bored with them and begin to have a strong and complete renunciation. This determination to seek liberation is the basis of all Buddhist practice, because only when we are aware of the suffering of samsara do we eagerly devote ourselves to it.

In this era of struggle, people are malevolent and extremely cunning. Everyone puts themselves first and ignores the needs of others. Whoever flatters has friends, and those who disobey or oppose are enemies. These mentalities gradually distort their actions and words, and their thoughts become more and more biased and distorted, like old trees with intertwined roots, until the mind degenerates to the point of completely losing the concept of right and wrong.

We are in a time of anger, thirst, ambition, foolishness, pride, and jealousy; It is a time when the sun of the Dharma has set, most great gurus have gone to other worlds, practitioners have gone astray, and both lay and ordained people have not followed the Dharma. People may get some short-term benefits from the misguided values of this era, but in the end they can't deceive others, they just deceive themselves.

In this dark age, the toxic afflictions in people's hearts are the root cause of their wandering in endless reincarnation.

Be careful! A powerful enemy is approaching step by step. That is not an ordinary enemy, but an enemy that cannot be conquered: death. Neither our eloquence nor our pleading can persuade death to be delayed for a few years, not even a second. Even the strongest warrior who commands all the armies of the world cannot move a single hair of death. Death cannot be bribed by huge wealth, nor can it be moved by ecstatic beauty.

You might think that it's better to spend 10 years trying to find a place in the world, and then spend another 10 years practicing the Dharma. But who can be sure that he can live twenty more years now? Who can say that he will definitely see the sunrise tomorrow? Who can even guarantee that he will take another breath? When you are in retreat on the mountain to make a fire, you might as well think: "I wonder if I can make a fire like this again tomorrow?" "Some die in their sleep, some die while walking, some die while eating, some die in war, some die young, and some have to live a long life. Any situation in life can cause death. A hundred years later, how many people are still alive today?

We are born alone and will die alone. Even if we are so lonely, our minds still have the shadow of past good and evil deeds after death. It is too late to start practicing Buddhism when you enter the bardo between death and your next rebirth. If we are prepared, confident in our practice, and know how to go to the Pure Land, we will not suffer when we die.

Today you are alive and well, living in a place where you can practice the Dharma freely, and no one forbids you from believing or chanting the six-character mantra of Avalokiteshvara, so now is the time to prepare for death. Usually we are always worried about the future and try our best to ensure that we are not poor or short of food and clothing. But of all the things to come, isn't death the most critical? The king and president are protected by guards for fear of assassination, but what do we do about the deadliest killer who can come in and out at any time and is unstoppable?

powerful people may use clever tricks to obtain wealth; Immoral people get rich by imposing heavy taxes or exploiting others. These wealths, powers, and influences, as well as any fleeting satisfactions obtained in this life, will be left behind; And the retribution of evil deeds committed to achieve these goals will continue, leading to tragic situations in the future. At the end of life, only good and evil karma will follow, and only Buddhism can protect us. If we ignore the Dharma now and are trapped in the narrow worldly affairs of daily life, we will inevitably be led by afflictions and accumulate karmic debts. Without the Dharma, we would be completely helpless. Instead of focusing on worldly things, shouldn't we practice as much as possible at this moment?

What are the benefits of rolling in samsara? Everything in reincarnation is constantly changing, millionaires become beggars, and beggars become millionaires. No matter what happens, people will never be satisfied - if they make a million, they want to make two million, if they make two million, they want to make three million. How can you be satisfied with this? There is only one thing you should always feel inadequate, and that is your practice. Like a hungry yak grazing, always stare ahead to see where more grass can be found. If you practice this way, you will not be disappointed.
