Shao Weihua: Three forms of causal retribution

The Buddhist "Three-life Cause and Effect Sutra" mainly talks about: First, people's life is created by themselves; second, how to create a good life for themselves; third, the law of causal retribution for doing good deeds and doing evil and doing bad things. 

There are three forms of the law of retribution in the cycle of cause and effect: The Nirvana Sutra says: There are three retributions of karma. One is retribution, and the retribution of good and evil is retribution, and the retribution of suffering and happiness is retribution; the second is retribution, or the retribution of previous life is retribution in this life is retribution, or the retribution in this life is retribution in the next life is retribution; the three is retribution in front of you, and the retribution in the present life is retribution.We understand the truth that karma has three retributions. We not only know that those who do bad things will eventually be retribution, but we can also truly do more good deeds and accumulate virtues, and never do bad things and eventually get blessings.

(one )The present reward is to receive retribution in this life.There are blessings and misfortunes in this life.Some of this kind of retribution will be repaid in the early years, some will be repaid in the middle age, and some will be repaid in the old age.Let’s talk about blessings first.As you can see, some people do not get any benefits in their lives. This is because they did bad things in their previous generation. They did good deeds in this life, and they offset the sins in their previous lives because of their good deeds. They offset the sins in their previous lives because they did too many good deeds, and the sins in their previous lives were offset. Therefore, they receive blessings in middle age and blessings in their later years.If you get blessings in your early years, one is to do good deeds and accumulate virtues in your previous life, or you may not have many sins in your previous life. If you do good deeds and accumulate virtues in this life, it will soon offset the sins in your previous life, so you will have to repay them early. 

There are three stages of disasters: early years, middle years, and late years.For example, some people have committed evil in their previous lives, but do not do good deeds and virtues in this life, and continue to do bad things, such as stealing, robbing, harming others, fraud, jealousy of the virtuous, and being ungrateful..., and as a result, they are punished by the law in their youth, or suffer serious illness, injuries and disabilities... and other disasters.Some people have done good things in their previous life, just like the money they deposited in the bank, and have not been used up yet. The bad things they have done in this life are slowly offsetting the good things they have done in the previous life. If middle age offsets it and does not stop doing evil, so middle age has toBad retribution。

Some people are very young and middle-aged, but in their later years, they either suffer from disasters in their families or leave them alone, old age, serious illness, no food or clothing, and no one to take care of them; or they are disabled in old age, or sentenced to prison in old age, and other disasters. The reason is the same as those in middle age. 

(two )Life retribution: It means doing evil in the past life and retribution in this life.ThisCause and effect，The same is divided into blessings and misfortunes.Some people have done good deeds and accumulated virtue in their previous lives, just like the money they deposited in the bank has not been used up yet, so they have been transferred to this life for use, so they enjoy happiness in this life.For example, although he enjoys happiness in this life, he still does good deeds and accumulates virtues, and like bank deposits are increasing and interest is increasing, so he will still be a person who enjoys happiness in the next life and is blessed. 

Some people do too much evil in their previous life, or do evil in old age, and they cannot complete the settlement in the current life, and they will suffer in this life.If someone cannot recognize the evils in his previous life and the sufferings in his later life, and continues to do evil, then he will continue to suffer in his next life. 

(three )Quick retribution: Retribution comes quickly, such as if you do bad things yesterday and get bad things today, do bad things in the morning, get bad things in the afternoon, or do bad things at nine o'clock, and get bad things at ten o'clock.Retribution of cause and effect is not only evil, but also blessings. As long as you do good deeds, you will also get quick rewards. 

There are two situations for quick report. One is the evil that this person did in his previous life, but he has not yet finished it. He has become even more serious and has done even more harm and inhumane things. For example, some kill people, set fire, some steal and rob, some assassinate others, some sell drugs, some sell fake wine and drugs to poison the masses, some bribe and embezzle, some defraud money... So he was taken to the historical trial table, some were sentenced, some were executed by gunfire, some were either injured and disabled, or died.If you are ungrateful and do not repay kindness, you will harm each other. Such people will be particularly quick to get evil.If there is a person who has no food to eat or a house to live in a particularly difficult situation, and her child has no money to go to school, and her husband’s job is lost. In this case, an old man comes out to help her arrange a job and lends a house to her. With food and a house to live in, and when the child goes to school, she not only does not thank the elderly for saving her life, but instead she has a conscience and embezzles the elderly’s money. As a result, the heaven has eyes, which makes her lose her hands. It depends on whether you are still greedy or not.

There was another person who had difficulties for many years, and his friend always helped him selflessly, but he always felt that giving 10,000 to 20,000 yuan a year was too little. He was greedy and became unintentional. One day, he held the money given by his friend in one hand and wanted to harm his friend in the other hand. The harm failed, and extorted money on his friend. When his friend saw that his conscience was bad, he warned: If you do this, you will definitely be punished. As a result, not only did the disaster at home not be resolved, but the next day he suddenly broke his leg and suffered a sudden illness. 

There was another person who found a flower-like object. The object said regretfully: You are good at everything, but an old mother in her 80s was added. After hearing this, he sharpened a sharp knife when he got home and wrote a note: Mother, it’s not that your son is unfilial. You are in your 80s and it’s time to enjoy your happiness.Then hide the knife and the note.Strangely, it was April weather, and it was cloudless. At around 5 pm, a heavy rain suddenly came down from the dark clouds, followed by thunder and lightning. A thunder bombarded the unfilial son who tried to kill his mother and died of blood.After his mother lost her son, she took her belongings and found a sharp knife and note under the pillow. She realized that her son was beaten to lightning.Therefore, ungrateful people are very likely to be retaliated against quickly. 

The above example of doing bad things and being quickly punished.Now let’s talk about the example of getting lucky and rewarded after doing good things.There is an old lady named Zhang Xiuhua in a certain city who lost her husband in her early years and her children died one after another. She was alone, fearing that she would not have any future life, so she wanted to commit suicide to avoid suffering alive.Later, after being persuaded by neighbors around the world, he did not commit suicide. 

She said she would not suffer in her old age.Burn incenseWorship the Buddha, recite the "Three-life Cause and Effect Sutra" every day, and do good deeds frequently.In the spring of 1975, she was walking outside and saw an unconscious middle-aged woman fainting on the road, so she called a cart to take the person to the hospital for emergency treatment.After the patient escaped from danger, the doctor told the patient: Your life was saved by the old lady, and she has been guarding you for the past two days.After hearing this, the patient was so moved that he hugged Aunt Zhang and cried, thanking her for saving her life.Later, when the patient was discharged from the hospital, Aunt Zhang paid the medical expenses for the patient with her only savings, and left without leaving her name or surname. 

Aunt Zhang paid for medical expenses for the patients, so she naturally became nervous in her life.In order to survive, she went out to dig wild vegetables to survive.One day at noon, she was digging wild vegetables in the field and dug out something like an iron ball. She didn't know whether it was copper or iron, so she sold it to the people who came to collect waste.After the scrap collector paid a few yuan, he sold the iron ball to the scrap station.After inspection, the purchaser asked the person who collected the scrap where the ball was collected? The man explained the situation clearly at the time of the acquisition.

At that time, the leader of the acquisition station sent two people to invite the old lady to come with the scrap collector. The scrap collector didn't know what was wrong and explained many times: I did buy it and never did anything illegal.Don’t worry, please invite the old lady to come. 

When Mrs. Zhang saw the scrap collector and two other people coming to invite her, the monk Zhang Er was confused and had to follow him to the acquisition station.After the station leader asked Aunt Zhang in detail where the ball was dug, he praised the old lady and said, "You old man dug up a very precious treasure for the country. It is the pure gold flower ball of the Han Dynasty royal family. Now I will pay you RMB 80,000." 

There are many examples of doing good deeds and accumulating virtue to get rewards, both in ancient and modern times, both in China and abroad.The fact that Aunt Zhang did good deeds to save people and received quick rewards has strongly proved that planting good causes, getting good results, planting evil causes, and gettingBad consequencesThe truth.
