The guru said that we should practice bodhicitta, and I think bad friends need us more than good friends, rather than stay away?
Is staying away from bad friends abandoning bodhicitta? Generally, when we say that sentient beings lose their bodhicitta, it means that when we develop compassion and bodhichitta in our hearts, you will target a sentient being and say that he is an exception, I don't want to help him, I want to let him go. If such thoughts arise, you have violated the root of bodhicitta, abandoned sentient beings, and lost bodhicitta.
When we practice compassion, compassion, and bodhicitta, we have a comprehensive, equal, and non-differentiated mind for all beings, and we must benefit them. Even his own enemies will not abandon him because of this.
However, when we develop compassion and bodhichitta for him, it does not mean that we have to do everything with him or listen to him. It does not mean that we should be with him when walking, sitting, or lying down, and not be separated from him. I want to benefit him in my heart, but I don't have to be by his side, there is such a difference.
When we do not abandon him, we mean that when we develop compassion, compassion, and bodhicitta, we are equal to him, and we do not deliberately exclude him.
What are the characteristics of a bad friend? For example, he will deny the cause and effect of the three lifetimes, saying that there is no past, no future, no future life, no afterlife as we say, and reincarnation does not exist at all. It is said that there is no cause and effect, and cause and effect are all false. If we are with such a person and listen to his words, it will not only be an obstacle to our Dharma, but it will also violate our bodhicitta precepts. Because in the precepts of bodhicitta, it is said to abandon the four black dharmas. If we listen to and get along with those who deceive the guru or deny cause and effect, it is against the bodhisattva vows. Therefore, in the position of the bodhisattva vows, you cannot get close to them.
