Teaching cause and condition

Buddha's Great Dictionary

Teaching begins, which is the reason for the establishment of the teaching method. At the beginning of the scripture, there must be a paragraph of text explaining the reasons for the establishment of the teachings, which is called the preface and preface.According to the first volume of the Avatamsaka Sutra, the Tathagata preached the Avatamsaka Sutra, and achieved success by countless causes and conditions. Therefore, the two words "cause and condition" are used to open ten meanings to reveal endlessness. First, the ten causes are revealed and then the ten causes are revealed, so it is called the cause and condition of the teaching.

(one )Teach the ten causes: (1)The law should be based on the principle of reasoning. It is said that the Tathagata appears, and it should preach the Avatamsaka Sutra. This is the same as the Buddha, Buddha and Taoism, and the Dharma is like this. Therefore, all Buddhas always turn into the endless wheel of Dharma in the endless world, and make sentient beings return to their original states and restore them. (2)Receiving the past cause means that the Tathagata preaches the Dharma, which is to repay the wishes of the past life. (3)Following the opportunity means that the teachings of the Tathagata are inspired by opportunities and follow the opportunity. (4)It is the basis of teaching, which means that the Tathagata first explains that the method of perfect and sudden enlightenment of the One Vehicle is the basis of all teachings, and then gradually implements the last teaching to educate the people of the Two Vehicles. (5)The virtue of showing the fruit means that the Tathagata manifests the virtue of promoting the world of Huazang and subtle ten bodies, which makes people believe and enjoy the urge to seek. (6)The status of the Avatamsaka Sutra shows the status of the Bodhisattva's practice: 1. The position of practice, that is, the arrangement of the cause and effect, and the rankings are gradually promoted and the level is distinguished.2. The harmonious position is that the position in one place is captured. (7)Speaking of superior practice means that the Tathagata preaches the extraordinary and wonderful practices, so that all Bodhisattvas and sentient beings can practice according to the teachings and create practice and achieve enlightenment. (8)The truth is expressed by the Tathagata declares the true Dharma, which makes people understand and understand. (9)Opening the faith means that the Tathagata teaches all sentient beings, the cause and effect of true Dharma and superior practice are all the inherent virtues of sentient beings. (10)Benefiting the future is called the Tathagata preaching the Dharma, which allows all Bodhisattvas and sentient beings in this life and in the future to hear and gain great benefits.

(two )Teach the ten fates: (1)According to the time, the time is the time when the Avatamsaka Sutra is preached. It means that the thought of Tathagata is integrated with many kalpas. It is originally without time and can be limited. Now, the time is without time and a little ten times are shown to be used to constantly elaborate this sutra. (2)The place where the Avatamsaka Sutra is said.It means that all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have seven places and nine meetings in the sea of dust dust in the ten directions, and even in the ends of each hair, to preach this sutra, just like the emperor's net, endless. (3)According to the master, the master is the leader of the Avatamsaka Sutra. It means that the Buddha Vairocana appears in the endless body clouds of the Dharma Realm, and spreads all directions of dusty dust seas, and preaches this sutra. (4)Based on Samadhi, Samadhi means correct concentration. It is said that before the Buddha preaches the sutra, he must first enter the Samadhi Samadhi, use silence to learn the principles of the Dharma, and distinguish the principles of the law with silence. Then he will start from the concentration and preach according to the opportunity. (5)According to the appearance, the appearance is about to be discussed. The auspicious sign that first appeared in the Avatamsaka Sutra. It means that when the meetings are about to preach, there may be auspicious signs such as light radiating the earth, the rain, and the fragrance of clouds to warn the animal machine. (6)By speaking people, speaking people means being the one who preaches the Dharma. It means that there is no rise and fall of Buddhism, so people spread it. (7)By listening to others, listen to others, that is, the one who listens to the Dharma. It means that if the Buddha preaches, if there is no listener, there will be no speech. (8)Based on virtue, it means that the preaching of sutras should be based on wisdom and practice. If there is no virtue inside, there is no need to preach outside. (9)If you ask someone, you may say that if no one asks you for advice, you may say it yourself. If you ask someone, you must respect the Dharma and respect the people, and you must sincerely ask before you preach. (10)By the power, the Tathagata uses divine power to be taught by the Bodhisattva. There are two types of add-ons: obvious addition, that is, the Buddha obviously adds the bow with the power of the three karmas; The secret is the addition of Buddha secret and wisdom. p4605
